North Palm Beach is a village in Palm Beach County, Florida, set on the mainland between the Intracoastal Waterway and U.S. Highway 1, roughly nine miles north of downtown West Palm Beach. MacArthur bought 2,600 acres from the estate of Sir Harry Oakes for $5.5 million and set about creating a model residential village from what had been mangrove swamp and farmland.
